Starting His Own Company

After his early success, Trapero wanted to help other filmmakers. In 2002, he started his own production company called Matanza Cine. A production company helps make movies by providing money, crew, and support. His company produces his own films and also helps other directors create their movies.

Because of his great work, Trapero has been asked to be a judge at major film festivals like Venice, San Sebastian, and Locarno. In 2014, he was chosen as the President of a special jury at the Cannes Film Festival.

In 2015, the government of France gave him a special award, making him a Chevallier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres. This is a high honor for people who have made great contributions to the arts. He was the first director from South America to receive it.
