Pamela Hinkson (born November 19, 1900 – died May 26, 1982) was an Irish writer. She wrote many books and was known for her interesting stories. Pamela was the daughter of famous writer Katharine Tynan and a lawyer named Henry Albert Hinkson.

Her book, The Ladies' Road, was published in 1932. It was very popular and sold over 100,000 copies!

Writing as Peter Deane

Pamela Hinkson also wrote under a secret name, called a pseudonym. Her secret name was Peter Deane. As Peter Deane, she wrote two books: The Victors (1925) and Harvest (1927). These stories were about the time during and after the First World War.

For a long time, no one knew who Peter Deane was. But in 1995, a writer named Hugh Cecil found out her secret. He revealed that Pamela Hinkson was Peter Deane after doing research for his book, The Flower of Battle: British Fiction Writers of the First World War.

Later Life and Works

Pamela Hinkson continued to write. Her last book was Golden Rose, which came out in 1944. She passed away on May 26, 1982, when she was 81 years old.
