Parchís (group) facts for kids
Parchís was a super popular children's music group from Spain in the 1980s! They were a huge hit in many Spanish-speaking countries. People remember them as the perfect example of a kids' band from that time.
The group had five original members:
- Constantino Fernández Fernández, who was the red pawn.
- Yolanda Ventura Román, who was the yellow pawn.
- Oscar Ferrer Cañadas, who was the blue pawn.
- Gemma Prat Termens, who was the green pawn.
- David Muñoz Forcada, who was the rolling die (like a single dice).
The group's name, Parchís, comes from a famous board game. It's similar to the game pachisi. In the game, each player has pawns of different colors: red, yellow, blue, and green. Just like the game, each member of the group wore one of these four colors. The fifth member represented the dice used to play.
After a few changes in who was in the group, Parchís stopped performing together in 1982. But many of the members went on to have successful careers in entertainment!
Their Music and Success
Parchís released many albums during their time together. Their songs were very popular with children and families. They often sang about fun topics, adventures, and everyday life.
Some of their albums included songs from popular TV shows and movies. For example, their album "Comando G" featured songs from the anime series "Battle of the Planets" (also known as "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman"). They also released special albums with Christmas songs, called Nadales and Villancicos.
Parchís also made music for films, like "La Guerra de Los Niños" and "Las Locuras de Parchís". Their songs were often catchy and easy for kids to sing along to. They helped make the 1980s a fun time for children's music!
