The Story of the Post Office
Parrot once had its very own post office. It opened a long time ago, on September 7, 1898. This was a big deal for the community, as it made sending and receiving mail much easier. However, the post office eventually closed its doors on July 23, 1994.
Before the official post office opened, the community had a very interesting way of handling mail. People used a simple "letter box" that was attached to a tree! Because of this, the community was sometimes called "Letter Box." It's a cool reminder of how things were done in the past.
