Patch Grove is a small town located in Grant County, Wisconsin, in the United States. In 2010, about 198 people lived there. The smaller Patch Grove Village is actually inside the larger Town of Patch Grove.

History of Patch Grove

The early history of Patch Grove is not fully known. We do know that in 1836, a person named Henry Patch came to this area. He built a house, and there were many trees around it. Because of this, the place started to be called "Patch's Grove."

Around the same time, a post office was set up while Henry Patch was living there. He became the very first Post Master, helping to deliver mail to the people in the area.

Where is Patch Grove?

Patch Grove is located in Wisconsin. It covers a total area of about 32.9 square miles (which is about 85.1 square kilometers). All of this area is land, meaning there are no large lakes or rivers within the town's official borders.

People of Patch Grove

In the year 2000, there were 390 people living in the Town of Patch Grove. These people lived in 135 households, and 105 of these were families. The town is not very crowded, with about 11.9 people living in each square mile.

Most of the people living in Patch Grove are White. In 2000, about 30% of the people were under 18 years old. The average age of people in the town was 37 years old.
