Patrice Ernita "Penni" McClammy is an American lawyer and politician. She serves as a member of the Alabama House of Representatives, representing the 76th district. She started this important job on November 17, 2021. She is a member of the Democratic Party.
About Patrice McClammy
Early Life and Education
Patrice McClammy grew up in Montgomery, Alabama. She attended Sidney Lanier High School. After high school, she went to several universities to study.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Hampton University in 1997. Political science is the study of how governments work. She then received an Associate of Arts degree in legal studies from Faulkner University in 1999.
Later, she earned a Juris Doctor degree from the Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in 2002. This degree is needed to become a lawyer. She also earned a PhD in public policy and administration from Florida State University in 2006. A PhD is the highest degree you can get in many fields.
Her Career and Public Service
Outside of her political work, Patrice McClammy runs her own law office. She helps people with legal issues.
Her father, Thad McClammy, was also a politician who served in the Alabama House of Representatives. After he passed away, Patrice decided to run for his seat. She did not have any opponents in the election. This meant she was chosen to take office without a contest. She officially started her role on November 17, 2021.
