Patrick Shevelle Love, born on July 23, 1968, is an American gospel singer and songwriter. He began his music career in 1994. His first album, Wait on the Lord, was released that year. His second album, The Vision, came out in 1998. Both of his albums were popular and appeared on the Billboard Gospel Albums charts.
Patrick Love's Early Life
Patrick Shevelle Love was born in Charlotte, North Carolina. His father worked as a stevedore, which means he helped load and unload ships. Patrick's mother owned a small business and taught young children. Patrick finished West Mecklenburg High School in 1986.
Patrick Love's Music Journey
Patrick Love's official music career started in 1994. He was inspired by Donald Lawrence, who also attended his church, Salem Baptist Church. Donald Lawrence helped Patrick by signing him and his choir to Crystal Rose Records. This was a music label that Lawrence partly owned.
Lawrence also helped produce Patrick Love's first two albums. The album Wait on the Lord was released in 1994. It became a hit, reaching No. 18 on the Billboard Gospel Albums chart. His second album, The Vision, was released on March 10, 1998. This album also did well, reaching No. 16 on the same chart.
