Paul Guilfoyle (born April 28, 1949) is an American actor. He is best known for playing unique supporting characters in many movies and TV shows. Many people know him as Captain Jim Brass from the popular crime drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He played this role from 2000 to 2014 and returned for special episodes later on.

Early Life and Education
Paul Guilfoyle was born in Boston, Massachusetts. He went to Boston College High School. In 2005, he gave a speech to the graduating students at his old high school. Later, he acted in the movie Spotlight, which is about events that happened in Boston.
After high school, Guilfoyle attended Lehigh University and graduated in 1972. He then studied acting and became a member of the famous Actors Studio. He spent 12 years with the Theatre Company of Boston and performed in many plays on and off Broadway.
