Paul Kyser (born December 6, 1943) is an American music expert. He is a promoter, record label owner, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He has helped create many hit songs.
Paul Kyser wrote and helped produce the song "Dawning of Love" for the group Devotion. He also wrote "Body and Soul (That's the Way It's Got to Be)" for Soul Generation. Another song he wrote was "Where Were You (When I Needed You)" for Jimmy Briscoe and the Little Beavers. He also helped write "Just How Sweet Is Your Love" for Rhyze. This song is on the Boogie's Gonna Getcha: '80s New York Boogie album. Paul Kyser also helped write "Be My #2" for the R. Kelly Untitled album. He is also known for finding and helping the group Jimmy Briscoe & The Little Beavers get started.

Paul Kyser grew up in New Jersey. He played a part in helping singer Retta Young meet her future husband, Al Goodman. Al Goodman was famous for being in the groups The Moments and Ray, Goodman & Brown.

Early Productions
One of Paul Kyser's first productions was "Wait For Me" for a girl group called The Teardrops. This group was from New Jersey and released their song in 1964. Later, Rhonda Franklin, who sang lead for The Teardrops, joined another group called The Superbs. They recorded "Love's Unpredictable" in 1968.
In 1971, Paul Kyser worked with Tom Vetri on a project for the group Devotion. Their song, "Dawning of Love", became a hit. It reached number 41 on the Cash Box R&B chart and number 49 on the Billboard Best Selling Soul Singles chart.
More Hit Songs
Paul Kyser's song, "Body and Soul (That's the Way It's Got to Be)", was recorded by Soul Generation. It became a hit, reaching number 27 on the R&B chart in 1972.
In 1975, he wrote "Hypertension" with Leon Stuckey. This song was a hit for the group Calendar. It reached number 12 on the Billboard Disco Action chart. It also made it to number 10 on the Record Mirror UK Disco Chart.

They also wrote "Ain't Nothing New Under The Sun" and "True Love (Is Worth More Than Gold)" for Jimmy Briscoe And The Beavers. These songs were B-sides for singles. Silver Dollar Records
In the early 1970s, he started Silver Dollar Records with Tom Vetri. The first group to release music on this label was Nu-Sound Express. The label later closed but was reopened by Kyser and Vetri in 1980.
Pi Kappa Records
He also created the New Jersey-based Pi Kappa label. This label released music from 1973 to 1976. Artists like Jimmy Briscoe and The Little Beavers, Calendar, Storm, and the Super Disco Band released singles on Pi Kappa.
Wanderick Records
Paul Kyser also set up the Wanderick label. This label was a part of TK Records. It released recordings by Jimmy Briscoe And The Beavers from 1977 to 1978.
