Paula Pryke is a famous British florist and author. She was born on April 29, 1960. Paula is known for her amazing flower designs and for writing many books about flowers. She has even been honored with an OBE, which stands for Officer of the Order of the British Empire.

Early Life and Education

Paula Pryke went to Culford School from 1970 to 1978. After that, she studied history at Trinity and All Saints College. She also studied music! In 1985, she earned a special music degree from the Royal Academy of Music.

Becoming a Flower Designer

Paula first started her career as a history teacher. But in 1987, she decided to follow her passion for flowers. She began training to be a florist at the Constance Spry Flower School.

Just one year later, in 1988, Paula opened her very own flower shop. It was called Paula Pryke Flowers and was in Islington, London. Her business grew, and she opened nine more flower shops across the United Kingdom.

In 1994, Paula also started the Paula Pryke Flower School. Here, she teaches others how to create beautiful floral designs.

Awards and Recognition

Paula Pryke has received many honors for her work with flowers. In 2000, she won the Ambassador for Floral Industry Award. This award recognized her important role in the world of flowers.

In 2012, Paula was chosen as a judge for the famous Rose Parade. This is a huge event known for its incredible flower floats.

In 2014, Paula was given a special award called the Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE). She received this honor for her great contributions to floral design.

Today, Paula Pryke travels all over the world. She gives talks and shows off her amazing floral art.
