Early Life and Art School

In 1921, Peggie started her art studies at Stott's Commercial Art Training Institute. She then went on to the National Gallery Art School in Melbourne. She studied there from 1922 to 1928. At this school, she learned from famous artists like Lindsay Bernard Hall, William Beckwith McInnes, and George Bell.

Showing Her Art

Peggie Crombie became a modernist painter. This means her art style was new and different for her time. She showed her paintings with several art groups in Melbourne. These groups included The Embryos, the 1932 Group, and the New Art Club. She also exhibited her work with the Melbourne Society of Women Painters and Sculptors and the Victorian Artists Society.

Peggie Crombie passed away in 1984.
