Pekw'Xe:yles is a land area that measures about 10.3 hectares. To give you an idea, that's roughly the size of 25 football fields! This land is very important because it is used by 21 different Indigenous communities, often called "bands."

How was Pekw'Xe:yles established?

This reserve was officially brought back into use in June 2005. This happened through a special government decision called an Order in Council. This decision made sure the land was recognized and set aside for the use of the Indigenous peoples.
