The Pennamaquan River is a cool, short river in the state of Maine, USA. It's about 8.1-mile (13 km) long. This river helps drain water from Pennamaquan Lake, which is a medium-sized lake. The river then flows into Cobscook Bay, which is part of the ocean.

Journey of the Pennamaquan River
Have you ever wondered where a river starts and ends? The Pennamaquan River begins its journey at the end of Pennamaquan Lake. This lake is located about 3.4 miles (5.5 km) northwest of a town called Pembroke.
River's Path to the Bay
From the lake, the river flows mostly towards the southeast. It travels for about 3.3 miles (5.3 km) in this direction. After that, it takes a short turn towards the south for about 1.4 miles (2.3 km). Finally, the Pennamaquan River reaches its destination and flows into Cobscook Bay.
