Perth Concert Hall is a special building in Perth, Scotland. It's a place where you can enjoy many different events. These include exciting concerts, amazing performances, and modern art shows. It opened its doors in 2005.

Building Design and Opening

The Perth Concert Hall was designed by a company called BDP Glasgow. They built it using strong materials like steel and glass. The building cost about £12.3 million to construct.

The hall was officially opened in 2005. Queen Elizabeth II herself came to open the building. This made it a very important event for Perth, Scotland.

Inside the Main Auditorium

The main part of Perth Concert Hall is called the Gannochy Auditorium. This is a large concert hall that can hold 1,000 people. It is very flexible, meaning it can be set up in different ways for various shows.

The walls of the hall are covered in concrete. Special wooden panels from Switzerland are used at the back of the stage. These panels help to make the sound inside the hall really clear. The auditorium also has a small balcony area for extra seating.

In 2007, the building received a special award. It was highly praised at the Scottish Design Awards. It was recognized as one of the best buildings for public use.
