Popular Movies and Awards
One of their most loved movies was Monrak luk thung from 1970. This movie was a musical that celebrated life in the Thai countryside. It was very popular with audiences.
In 1964, Petchara won an important award. The Thailand National Film Awards committee named her the best actress. This was for her role in the movie Nok Noi. She even received her award from King Bhumibol himself.
Continuing Her Work
After Mitr Chaibancha's sad accident in 1970, Petchara kept acting. She starred in the 1971 musical comedy Ai Tui ('Mr. Tui'). In this film, she acted with Sombat Metanee. He became a popular leading actor after Mitr's death. Petchara's last movie was Ai Khuntong, which came out in 1979.
Over the years, Petchara has appeared in public less often. This is because she has had problems with her eyesight. It is thought that working for many hours under bright movie set lights might have caused this.
