Peter Lamont was especially famous for two things. First, he worked closely with the famous director James Cameron on movies like Titanic. Second, he helped create the sets for eighteen different James Bond films. He worked on almost every Bond movie from Goldfinger (1964) to Casino Royale (2006). The only Bond film he missed was Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), because he was busy working on Titanic at the same time.
During his long career, which lasted almost 60 years, Peter Lamont was nominated for four Academy Awards. He won an Oscar for his amazing work on Titanic (1997). He also worked on the "Carry On" comedy movies in the 1960s. In 2016, he wrote a book about his experiences called The Man With the Golden Eye: Designing the James Bond Films.
