Peter Masterson was an American actor, director, producer, and writer. He was born as Carlos Bee Masterson Jr. on June 1, 1934. He passed away on December 18, 2018, at the age of 84. Peter Masterson was known for his many roles in movies and for directing popular films.

Peter Masterson's Life and Career
Peter Masterson often worked with his cousin, a famous writer named Horton Foote. Masterson started acting in the mid-1960s. He continued acting until the mid-1980s.
One of his well-known acting roles was in the 1975 movie The Stepford Wives. He played the character Walter Eberhart. His daughter, Mary Stuart Masterson, who is also an actress, appeared in the same movie. She played one of his daughters in the film.
Acting Roles in Films
Besides The Stepford Wives, Peter Masterson acted in several other movies. These include Ambush Bay (1966) and In the Heat of the Night (1967). He also appeared in Counterpoint (1968) and Von Richthofen and Brown (1971). Other films he acted in were Tomorrow (1972), The Exorcist (1973), and Man on a Swing (1974). His last acting role was in Gardens of Stone (1987).
Directing and Producing Movies
After the mid-1980s, Peter Masterson focused more on directing and producing films. In 1980, he produced a TV movie called City in Fear. This movie was based on an idea by writer William Goldman.
In 1985, he directed the movie The Trip to Bountiful. This film was very successful. The actress Geraldine Page won an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in it.
Masterson directed many other films. Some of these include Full Moon in Blue Water (1988) and Night Game (1989). He also directed Blood Red (1989) and Convicts (1991). Later, he directed Arctic Blue (1993), The Only Thrill (1997), and Lost Junction (2003). His last directing work was Whiskey School in 2005.
Peter Masterson passed away on December 18, 2018. He was 84 years old.
