Peter Simonischek (born August 6, 1946 – died May 29, 2023) was a well-known actor from Austria. He was famous for his amazing performances on stage. He was a regular actor at the Burgtheater, a very important theater, since 1999. He also often performed at the Salzburg Festival and played the main character in the play Jedermann many times.
He also acted in over sixty films starting from 1980. Many people around the world knew Simonischek best for his main role in the popular comedy-drama movie Toni Erdmann (2016).
