Petra Martínez Pérez, born on June 24, 1944, is a talented Spanish actress. She has had a very long and successful career acting in plays, movies, and TV shows.
Petra Martínez's Acting Journey
Petra Martínez started her acting career on stage in 1967. One of her first plays was Twelfth Night by the famous writer William Shakespeare.
Petra and her husband, Juan Margallo, started their own theater company called Uroc Teatro. In 2011, their company received a special award called the Medalla de Oro al Mérito en las Bellas Artes, which means "Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts." This award recognizes their great work in the arts.
In 2012, Petra was nominated for an award for her acting in the movie Libre directo. Later, in 2014, she became well-known for playing the character Fina in the popular TV series La que se avecina.
In 2017, Petra received the Premio Jiennenses de Cultura award from a newspaper called Diario Jaén. On March 18, 2017, she also earned the 'San Pancracio' Honorary Award at a Spanish film festival in Cáceres. She received this award alongside other well-known actors and directors.
One of her most notable roles was in the 2021 movie That Was Life, where she played the main character, María. Her performance in this film was highly praised. She won a Feroz Award for Best Actress and was nominated for Best Actress at the 36th Goya Awards. These are very important awards in Spanish cinema. In 2023, she also appeared in the film Cerrar los ojos.
