Early Life and Start in Modeling
Petra Němcová was born on June 24, 1979, in a place called Karviná. At that time, it was part of Czechoslovakia, but now it's in the Czech Republic.
How Petra Became a Model
Petra was discovered by a modeling agency on the streets of Prague. She then moved to Milan, Italy, to start her modeling career. In 1995, she won a competition called "Elite Model Look" in the Czech Republic. After that, her career really took off!

Petra suffered serious injuries but managed to hold onto a palm tree for eight hours until she was rescued. This difficult experience deeply affected her and inspired her to help others.

Happy Hearts Fund
In 2005, Petra started the Happy Hearts Fund (HHF). This charity's main goal is to rebuild schools in areas that have been hit by natural disasters. Thanks to the Happy Hearts Fund, 176 schools have been rebuilt in 10 different countries, including Thailand, Indonesia, and Haiti. Petra has been very involved in the charity's work, helping to plan its long-term goals.
All Hands And Hearts - Smart Response
In 2017, the Happy Hearts Fund joined with another charity called All Hands Volunteers. Together, they formed a new organization called All Hands And Hearts - Smart Response (AHAH). Petra is now a co-founder and a leader of this group. AHAH works to provide quick and effective help to communities around the world after natural disasters. Petra believes it's important to understand what people need and give them hope and immediate help.
Awards and Recognition
Petra has received awards for her charity work. In 2005, Glamour magazine gave her a "Survivor Award" for her efforts after the tsunami.
In 2012, the president and prime minister of Haiti named her an "Ambassador-at-Large" for her work with the Happy Hearts Fund in their country. In 2017, the United Nations also recognized her as a "Disaster Risk Reduction Champion and Tsunami Awareness Advocate."

Petra has a sister named Olga. Petra has been a vegan since 2007, which means she doesn't eat animal products. She also cares a lot about the health of the world's oceans.
