Philip Pusey was born in 1799. He became a Member of Parliament (MP) several times. His first attempt to become an MP was in 1830 for the area of Rye. He was first declared the winner, but later lost the seat.

He then became an MP for Chippenham in 1830. After that, he was elected for Cashel in Ireland in 1831. Finally, he became the MP for Berkshire in 1835. He held this important position until he decided to retire in 1852.

Philip Pusey was also given the title of Deputy Lieutenant of Berkshire in 1831. This was an important local role. He was also considered for the role of High Sheriff of Berkshire in 1833 and 1834.

How Philip Pusey Improved Farming

Philip Pusey inherited the land of Pusey in Berkshire in 1828. He quickly became known as a very skilled and forward-thinking farmer. He was always looking for new and better ways to farm.

Philip Pusey was the oldest son of Philip Bouverie-Pusey. His younger brother was Edward Bouverie Pusey, who became a famous church leader. In 1822, Philip Pusey married Lady Emily Herbert. She was the daughter of Henry Herbert, 2nd Earl of Carnarvon.
