Physical dependence facts for kids
Physical dependence is a term used in medicine to describe how your body can get used to certain things. When your body gets used to something you take regularly, it might expect to keep getting it.
If you suddenly stop taking something your body is used to, it can react in ways that might feel uncomfortable. These reactions are sometimes called "withdrawal symptoms." How strong these reactions are can depend on how long you've been taking something or how much of it you were taking.
