Lake Pielinen is a really big lake in Finland. In fact, it's the fourth largest lake in the whole country! It's located in the eastern part of Finland, in a region called North Karelia. This lake is known for its clear waters and the stunning natural beauty around it, especially the famous Koli National Park.
What is Lake Pielinen Like?
Lake Pielinen is a long and narrow lake. It stretches for about 100 kilometers (62 miles) from north to south. The lake is quite deep in some places, reaching about 61 meters (200 feet) at its deepest point. Its waters flow into the larger Vuoksi River system, which eventually empties into Lake Ladoga in Russia.

Pielinen in Art
Lake Pielinen has inspired many artists because of its amazing landscapes. One very famous painting is Syysmaisema Pielisjärveltä (which means 'Autumn Landscape from Lake Pielinen'). This painting was created in 1899 by a famous Finnish artist named Eero Järnefelt. It's one of his most well-known works and has even been featured on a postage stamp in Finland!
