Pilar López de Ayala Arroyo was born in Madrid, Spain. Her birthday is September 18, 1978. Her parents are Rodrigo López de Ayala Sánchez-Arjona and Pilar Arroyo Gallego. Pilar went to school at Francisco de Quevedo in Majadahonda.
Starting Her Acting Journey
Pilar began her acting career with a small part in a children's movie called El niño invisible
in 1995. This movie was made to promote a music group.From 1997 to 1999, she became a familiar face on TV. She played the character Carlota in 418 episodes of a popular teen TV show called Al salir de clase.
After her TV work, Pilar continued acting in movies. She appeared in By My Side Again in 1999. In 2000, she got her first main role in a film called Fill Me with Life. She also acted in comedies like Living It Up and Kisses for Everyone. For her role as Rocío in Kisses for Everyone, she was nominated for a Goya Award for Best New Actress.
Becoming a Star
Pilar López de Ayala received a lot of praise for her role as Joanna of Castile in the historical drama Mad Love. This movie was made with help from Italy and Portugal. It was first shown in September 2001 at a big film festival in San Sebastián. Pilar won the Silver Shell for Best Actress award there. The movie was also very popular in Spain.
