Pioneer Lake is a round, natural freshwater lake located in the northern part of Highlands County, Florida. It's a peaceful spot, surrounded by other lakes. Just south of Pioneer Lake, you'll find Lake Viola, and to its north is Lake Pythias. This lake covers an area of about 93 acres (0.38 km2), which is roughly the size of 70 football fields! It also goes quite deep, reaching a maximum depth of 30 feet (9.1 m). The lake sits at an elevation of 98 feet (30 m) above sea level.

Public Access
Besides the boat ramp, there isn't much other public access to Pioneer Lake. There isn't a public beach for swimming. A few years ago, a road called Oak Park Avenue on the west side of the lake used to offer more access. However, this road is now used by private landowners.
