What is Pirates Voyage?
Pirates Voyage is a unique show where pirates battle on land, in the air, and in water. It's a fun experience for families and friends. You get to cheer for your favorite pirate crew while enjoying a tasty dinner.
The Story Behind the Show
The Myrtle Beach theater where Pirates Voyage is now located has a cool history. For 18 years, it was home to another popular show called Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede.
On September 22, 2010, Dolly Parton announced a big change. The theater would close for a short time to get a major update. This update would turn it into the pirate-themed show we know today.
Amazing Show Features
To create the pirate world, the theater got some awesome upgrades. A huge pool was built, which is 15 foot (4.6 m) deep and holds 750,000 US gallons (2,800,000 L; 620,000 imp gal) of water! This allows for incredible water stunts.
The show also uses special lights and ropes for acrobats. These acrobats perform amazing tricks high above the stage. The story features Blackbeard, a famous pirate who has a history along the coasts of North and South Carolina.
During November and December, the show gets even more special. It adds fun Christmas elements, making it a festive holiday adventure!
