The Story of Plan-B Theatre

How It Started

Plan-B Theatre began in 1991 in Salt Lake City, Utah. It officially became a company in 1995. Since then, it has grown to be an important part of the Utah arts scene.

Adapting to Challenges

When the COVID-19 pandemic happened, many things changed. Plan-B Theatre had to find new ways to share their stories. For their 30th anniversary season, they decided to produce all their plays as audio dramas. This meant people could listen to the plays from home, keeping everyone safe.

Celebrating New Voices

Plan-B Theatre is known for showing many brand-new plays for the very first time. They have produced nearly 100 world premieres. These new plays have included the first ones in Utah written by an Asian American playwright, an African American playwright, a Latina playwright, and a Persian playwright. This shows Plan-B's commitment to sharing diverse stories and voices.
