Playacar is a special area in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, designed for fun and relaxation. It's like a private neighborhood within the city, known for its beautiful resorts and homes.
Located in the sunny state of Quintana Roo, Playacar is part of the Solidaridad municipality. It's a "gated community," which means it has controlled entrances for safety and privacy. Exploring Playacar's Two Sides
Playacar is divided into two main parts, each offering something a little different for visitors and residents.
Playacar Phase 1: Beachfront Beauty
The first part, called Playacar Phase 1, is right by the ocean. Here, you'll find quiet, private beaches and lovely villas (fancy houses). It's very close to the heart of downtown Playa del Carmen, making it easy to explore the city's shops and restaurants.
Playacar Phase II: Golf and Resorts
Playacar Phase II is built around a fantastic golf course. This course was designed by a famous golf course architect named Robert von Hagge. In this section, you'll discover many "all-inclusive" resorts, where your food, drinks, and activities are often part of your stay. There are also private villas all around the golf course, offering beautiful views.
