It's one of the older areas in the city and is found northwest of Breckenridge and west of Colony West. Pleasant Valley sits south of the higher areas of Pleasant Ridge and Walton Heights, and mostly east of St. Charles.

This neighborhood is famous for the Pleasant Valley Country Club. Golf Digest magazine even says its golf course is the third best in Arkansas! The entire Pleasant Valley area uses the zip code 72212. In 2011, people living here earned a lot of money, making it one of the wealthiest areas in Little Rock and among the richest in the whole country.

Pleasant Valley is served by the western part of Rodney Parham Road. This road is named after a very important judge from Pulaski County who lived a long time ago. You can find many interesting places along this road, like the Pleasant Valley Country Club itself. There are also several places of worship, such as Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, First Baptist Church, St James Methodist, and Temple B'nai Israel. You'll also find many nice shops and restaurants. Plus, many real estate companies and other businesses have their main offices or branches in this neighborhood. A company called Windstream Communications, which provides phone and internet services, even has its main office here after it became separate from another company called Alltel.
How Pleasant Valley Grew
Most of the homes in Pleasant Valley were built in the late 1960s and early 1970s. This shows how Little Rock kept growing westward. Many large homes, especially those next to the country club, were built after a special road connection was made at Rodney Parham Road and Interstate 430 in 1970. This connection made it easier for people to get around, which helped the area grow even more. Many homes were also built for people whose children had grown up and moved out, looking for a nice place to live.
