Poplar Ridge, Ohio facts for kids
Poplar Ridge is a small place in Ohio, a state in the United States. It's called an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and people, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or town. Instead, it's part of a larger area called Darke County.
The History of Poplar Ridge
Poplar Ridge was first planned and built along an old road called the Greenville and West Milton Pike. This road was important for travel and trade back then.
A post office was opened in Poplar Ridge in the year 1850. This was a big deal because it meant people could send and receive letters and packages right in their own community. The post office served the area for many years, until it closed down in 1899.
