Prix de l'Équerre d'Argent facts for kids
The Prix d'architecture de l'Équerre d'argent (which means "The Silver T-square Prize" in French) is a special award given in France for amazing buildings. A "T-square" is a tool that architects use to draw straight lines, so the name fits perfectly! This award was started in 1960 by a magazine called "Architecture Française" and its director, Michel Bourdeau.
It is given out every year by a company called Le Moniteur. They give it to a French building that was finished in the past year. The prize money is shared equally between the person who designed the building (the architect) and the person or group who owned the building (the building owner).
