Prunus eburnea is a type of wild almond plant. It grows naturally in countries like Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. This plant is usually a thick, bushy shrub that can grow from about 0.2 to 1.2 meters tall. It has gray bark on its stems.

What Does It Look Like?

Prunus eburnea looks a lot like some other wild almond species. These include Prunus lycioides, P. spinosissima, P. erioclada, and P. brahuica.

How to Tell It Apart

Even though it looks similar to other plants, you can tell Prunus eburnea apart by looking closely at its flowers. It has a part of the flower called a hypanthium that is covered in soft, fine hairs. This hairy feature helps scientists tell it apart from its relatives.

Plant Family and Relatives

Scientists have studied the genes and physical features of Prunus eburnea. These studies show that it is its own unique species. Its closest plant relative is another species called Prunus erioclada.

Hybrid Plants

Sometimes, different plant species can mix together to create a new type of plant. When Prunus scoparia and Prunus eburnea naturally cross-pollinate, they create a hybrid plant. This new plant is known as Prunus × iranshahrii.
