Puerto Santa Cruz is a town in southern Argentina. It is located in the Santa Cruz Province. The town sits close to the Atlantic Ocean. You can find it on the north side of the Santa Cruz River's mouth.
This town is quite old for the region. It was founded in 1878, making it the second oldest city in the province. For a while, it was even the capital of the Santa Cruz National Territory. However, Río Gallegos became the new capital in 1888.
Puerto Santa Cruz is an important place for farming. People here raise sheep and cattle. Because there's fresh water in this dry area, they can also grow fruits in orchards and other plants.
It is located at latitude 50°S. This means it is directly opposite Prague, a city in Europe, which is at latitude 50°N.
