Life in Punta Allen

Punta Allen is a small village with sandy streets. It has only about four or five blocks that go inland from the sea. The village is also about six or seven streets wide.

Electricity and Power

The village gets its electricity from one main generator. This generator runs power to the homes and businesses during two times each day. Electricity is available from 11 AM to 2 PM. It also runs from 7 PM until midnight.

Food and Supplies

For food and other items, Punta Allen has a few small shops called mini markets. There is also a place to buy fresh seafood. Another shop sells fresh fruits and vegetables. The village has a special co-op for lobster fishing. This co-op also makes ice for the fishermen. You can find several restaurants along the beach and around the village. They often serve fresh seafood caught right there.

The Beach and the Ocean

The beaches in Punta Allen are natural and not cleaned by machines. Sometimes, garbage washes up on the shore from the ocean. Much of this trash comes from large ships or towns along the coast. When a hurricane passes by, it can pick up trash and carry it into the sea. This trash then floats until it lands on a beach.

Village Safety

The main dock in Punta Allen has people who work in law enforcement. They are there to help keep the village safe and secure for everyone.
