The Qatar Squash Federation is the main group that looks after the sport of squash in Qatar. It helps organize games and promote squash across the country.
History of Qatar Squash
The Qatar Squash Federation started in 1984. At first, it was part of a larger organization. This group was called the Qatari Tennis and Squash Federation.
Joining International Groups
In 1986, the Qatar Squash Federation became a member of several important international squash groups. These included the World Squash Federation, the Arabian Squash Federation, and the Asian Squash Federation. Being part of these groups helps Qatar's squash players compete globally.
Becoming Independent
The Qatar Squash Federation became its own separate organization on January 22, 2001. Before this, it was joined with the Qatar Tennis Federation. Now, both squash and tennis have their own independent groups in Qatar.
