Where is Qormi Located?
Qormi is in the Southern Region of Malta. It's not far from Valletta, the capital city. Being in the center of the island means it's easy to reach from many other places.
What's in a Name?
The city of Qormi has a special title: Città Pinto. This name was given to the city by a Grand Master named Manuel Pinto da Fonseca in the 1740s. A Grand Master was like a leader of the Knights who ruled Malta a long time ago. Giving a city a special title like "Città" (which means "city") was a big honor back then.
How Many People Live Here?
Qormi is one of the biggest cities in Malta. In March 2014, about 16,779 people called Qormi home. This large population makes it the fifth biggest place on the island.
