Quinindé, also known as Rosa Zárate, is a town in the Esmeraldas province of Ecuador. It is a vibrant place with its own unique culture and a love for sports.
Sports in Quinindé
Quinindé is proud to have a soccer team called La Brasilia. This team plays in the second division of Ecuadorean soccer. In 2007, La Brasilia did very well. They finished second in the Copa Ecuatoriana tournament.
Culture and Local Specialties
The town of Quinindé has some interesting local traditions. One special food found here is known as 'un jorkshia poodeen'. It is thought that this unique dish came about after the Spanish colonial period. During that time, the British built many railways across Ecuador. This also brought some of their culture to the local areas.
