Quivicán is a town and a special area (called a municipality) in Cuba. It is part of the Mayabeque Province. You can find it in the southwest part of the province, right next to the Gulf of Batabanó.
The name Quivicán comes from the Taíno people, who were the original inhabitants of the Caribbean. They spelled it Quibicán. The town was officially started in the year 1700.
