How Río Luis Was Formed
Río Luis was officially created on July 29, 1998. This happened because a new law, called Law 58, was put into place. Before this, an older law from 1982 was found to have some problems. So, Law 58 was made to properly establish Río Luis as a corregimiento. In the year 2000, the population of Río Luis was 1,708 people.
