Rachelle Vinberg (born August 27, 1998) is an American skateboarder and actress. She is famous for playing a character named Camille in the movie Skate Kitchen and the TV show Betty. Her character is based on her own life as part of a real all-girl skate crew.

Early Life and School

Rachelle was born on Long Island, New York. Her mother is from Colombia and her father is American. She has two brothers, one older and one younger.

Back in 2018, while her acting career was starting, Rachelle was also a student at Brooklyn College. She was studying to get a degree in film.

Career in Skateboarding and Acting

How She Started Skateboarding

Rachelle learned her first big skate trick, the ollie, from her cousin when she was almost 12 years old. To learn more tricks, she watched videos on YouTube. Soon, she was skateboarding with the boys in her neighborhood.

Later, she met another skater, Nina Moran, through YouTube. They started skating together in New York City. It was there that they met a film director named Crystal Moselle. Moselle made a short, 13-minute movie with them called That One Day. This short film was later turned into a full-length movie, Skate Kitchen.

Becoming an Actress

Rachelle's acting career began by chance. She was skateboarding at the LES Skatepark in New York when a casting director saw her. She was asked to be in a commercial for Samsung.

In 2018, she starred as Camille in the movie Skate Kitchen, directed by Crystal Moselle. The movie was so popular that it led to a TV show on HBO called Betty, where Rachelle also plays Camille.
