Rachelle Vinberg (born August 27, 1998) is an American skateboarder and actress. She is well-known for playing Camille, a character like herself, in the movie Skate Kitchen and the TV show Betty. These stories are inspired by a real group of female skaters she is part of.

Growing Up and Learning

Rachelle Vinberg was born on Long Island, New York. Her mother is from Colombia and her father is American. She has two brothers, one older and one younger. In 2018, Rachelle was studying film at Brooklyn College.

Her Career

Becoming a Skateboarder

Rachelle learned her first skateboard trick, the ollie, just before she turned 12. Her older cousin taught her this trick. Rachelle kept learning new tricks by watching videos on YouTube. She started skateboarding with the boys in her neighborhood.

Later, Rachelle became friends with Nina Moran through YouTube. The two started skateboarding together in New York City. While skating in NYC, Rachelle and Nina met Crystal Moselle, a filmmaker. Moselle made a short film with Rachelle, Nina, and their friends. This film was called That One Day. It was later made into a full movie, Skate Kitchen.

Acting on Screen

Rachelle was skateboarding at LES Skatepark one day. A casting director asked her to be in a Samsung commercial. This commercial was called "A Perfect Day" and was directed by Cary Fukunaga.

In 2018, Rachelle played the character Camille in Crystal Moselle's movie Skate Kitchen. Rachelle also stars in the HBO TV series Betty. This show is based on the Skate Kitchen movie.
