Rafael Navarro (photographer) facts for kids
Rafael Navarro Garralaga (born October 8, 1940, in Zaragoza, Spain) is a well-known Spanish art photographer. He is famous for his special way of seeing the world through his camera lens.
Rafael Navarro became interested in photography in the 1970s. He first took pictures of theater shows and sports events. But soon, he fell in love with visual arts. This is where he started to create his own unique style.
One of his most interesting ideas is his series of photographs called diptychs. A diptych is when two images are put together, even if they don't seem connected at first. This creates a different and surprising view for the person looking at the photo.

A year later, he became a representative for the Latin American Council of Photography. In 1985, he joined the advising team for the Miró’s Foundation.
His photographs have been shown in more than 500 exhibitions around the world. You can find his work in important collections. These include the National Library in Paris and the European House of Photography. His art is also in modern art museums in Brussels, Mexico, and Japan.
