Time in Japan
Rafinha played for different clubs in Japan. He was on loan to Avispa Fukuoka in 2007. Later, he played for Thespa Kusatsu from 2010 to 2011. He then joined Gamba Osaka from 2011 to 2012.
Success in South Korea
In 2012, Rafinha moved to South Korea to play for Ulsan Hyundai. This was a very important time in his career.
Winning the AFC Champions League
Rafinha helped Ulsan Hyundai win the 2012 AFC Champions League in 2012. He even scored a goal in the final match! They beat Al-Ahli from Saudi Arabia to win this big championship.
Playing in the FIFA Club World Cup
After winning the AFC Champions League, Ulsan Hyundai got to play in the 2012 FIFA Club World Cup. This is a tournament where the best club teams from around the world compete.
