Ranger is a small place located in Dent County, Missouri, in the United States. It is known as an unincorporated community. This means it's a group of homes and buildings that doesn't have its own official town government. Instead, it's managed by the larger county it's part of.
Ranger's History
Ranger once had its very own post office! A post office is a place where people can send and receive mail. The post office in Ranger first opened its doors in 1896. It helped people living there get their letters and packages for many years.
However, after about 20 years, the post office closed down in 1917. The reason why this community was named "Ranger" is a bit of a mystery. No one is quite sure how it got its name!
