Early Life
Ranjan Mistry was born on March 14, 1996. He grew up in Gaya and Patna, Bihar, India. His family was from a lower middle-class background.
Career Highlights
Ranjan Mistry started teaching at a very young age. He was in the 6th grade when he began giving tuition. He used the money he earned to pay for his own English classes. Later, he taught many students, including his own classmates. He even taught in slum areas with other students from BIT Patna. So far, Mistry has taught over 10,000 students.
He also helped bring education to 10 villages in Gaya. These villages were affected by Naxal groups. He made sure teachers were available there for several years. Even when teachers left, he worked hard to find new ones. In 2016, he became known as a social entrepreneur.
Developing Entrepreneurship
Ranjan Mistry is one of Bihar's youngest social entrepreneurs. He helps create a spirit of entrepreneurship in the region. He helped start the Patna University Incubation Hub (PUI-Hub). This was the first center of its kind in Bihar at a university level. It helps students and others start new businesses.
In 2017, he founded Campus Varta. This is an online platform that helps rural students. It connects them with educational resources and opportunities.
Recognition and Mentorship
In 2019, Ranjan Mistry was nominated for Forbes Asia 30 Under 30. This is a list of young leaders in Asia. In 2018, he joined the advisory board of Bihar Mahila Udyog Sangh (BMUS). This group helps women in Bihar become more independent through business.
He is also a well-known speaker and visiting teacher. He has guided more than 150 new businesses across India. Mr. Mistry also started a program called Nxt100. Through this program, he plans to help 100 people become entrepreneurs. He will guide them for free. He also founded Womenia Chakra Foundation and Women School of Entrepreneurship. These groups help girls and women develop leadership skills in business.
Educational Initiatives
In 2015, Ranjan Mistry suggested opening the Patna School of Economics. This idea was later changed to Patliputra School of Economics. It was inspired by famous schools like the London School of Economics. He also proposed and designed plans for incubation centers. These centers would help new businesses at universities. Some of these universities include Patna University and Magadh University. In 2019, he suggested opening a Robotics Research Center in Bihar to the state government.
