Raquel's journey began with junior championships. In 2007, she finished 11th in the 10,000 meters walk at the European Junior Championships. The next year, she competed in the World Junior Championships.
As she grew older, she moved to under-23 championships. She placed 8th in the 20 km walk at the European U23 Championships in 2009. In 2013, Raquel won a silver medal at the Mediterranean Games in Mersin, Turkey, for the 20 km walk. This was one of her first big medals!

She was also part of the Spanish team that won a bronze medal at the World Racewalking Cup in Taicang, China, in 2018. In 2019, she earned a bronze medal in the European Cup 20 km race walk in Alytus.
