Raymond Matthew Neufeld (born April 15, 1959) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player. He played as a right winger. Ray was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba, and grew up in Winkler, Manitoba.
After his playing days, Ray stayed involved with hockey. He worked as a radio commentator for Winnipeg Jets games. He also helped coach and manage the Winnipeg Blues, a junior hockey team. Today, he works in the oil industry. He also scouts for young hockey talent in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.
Ray Neufeld's Hockey Journey
Ray Neufeld started his professional hockey career in 1979. He was drafted by the Hartford Whalers. This was his first team in the NHL.
Playing for the Whalers and Jets
Ray played for the Hartford Whalers for several years. He was a strong player on their team. In 1985, he moved to the Winnipeg Jets. This was part of a trade with another player, Dave Babych.
Ray played for the Jets for a few seasons. He was an important part of their lineup. He helped the team in many games.
Finishing with the Bruins
In 1988, Ray was traded again. This time, he joined the Boston Bruins. He played his final professional games with the Bruins. He retired from playing hockey in 1990.
