RealmsCon is a super fun three-day event that happens every year in Corpus Christi, Texas. It's like a big party for fans of all sorts of cool stuff! What Happens at RealmsCon?
RealmsCon is packed with exciting activities for everyone. You can explore the Artists Alley where talented artists show off and sell their amazing work. It's a great place to find unique art!
There are also awesome cosplay contests. This is where people dress up as their favorite characters from movies, comics, or video games. It's really cool to see all the creative costumes!
You can also chill out in movie rooms and watch films. If you love music and dancing, there's often a rave to enjoy. For gamers, there are role-playing games, table-top games, and lots of video games to play.
You can also check out the vendors selling unique merchandise. Plus, there are workshops where you can learn new skills. These might include how to make your own cosplay or draw comics.
RealmsCon's Story
RealmsCon began in 2005. It first focused on science fiction and comic books. But soon, the organizers noticed that most people came for anime. So, the convention grew to include lots of different interests.
In 2013, RealmsCon even featured content from the South Texas Underground Film Festival. This added more cool movies to the event. In 2014 and 2015, the convention helped a good cause. They held a cosplay fundraiser walk to support Coastal Bend Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA). CASA helps children in need.
In 2018, RealmsCon had free outdoor events. This allowed even more people to enjoy the fun. Sadly, RealmsCon 2020 had to be cancelled. This was because of the COVID-19 pandemic, which stopped many large gatherings.
