Rebecca Elgar is an English children's book illustrator and writer. This means she draws pictures for books and writes the stories too! She is best known for creating the TV series Driver Dan's Story Train. This show is for pre-school children. She also designed the characters for the TV series Boo!. Rebecca even drew pictures for some Boo! spin-off books.

Both Driver Dan's Story Train and Boo! were shown on CBeebies. CBeebies is a TV channel especially for young kids. Driver Dan's Story Train is still shown on CBeebies. It is also shown on PBS Kids Sprout and ABC2 in other countries. The TV show Boo! was even nominated for a BAFTA. A BAFTA is a very important award for TV and film.
Rebecca once said in an interview with the BBC that she had a special goal. She wanted to help young children love books and reading. This was one of her main aims when she created Driver Dan's Story Train.
How She Started Her Career
Rebecca studied graphic design at Norwich School of Art. After finishing her degree, she started working in publishing. This means she worked for companies that make books. She began as a book designer. She even worked on Playdays magazine. Later, she decided to focus on illustrating and writing her own books.
