Rebecca Young (born 27 December 1981) is an Australian athlete. She is famous for playing both rugby league and rugby union. She played for the Sydney Roosters in the NRL Women's Premiership.

Rebecca mostly plays as a prop (prop). She has represented Australia as an Australian Jillaroo. She also played for New South Wales and the Indigenous All Stars. In rugby union, she played for Australia in the 2006 Women's Rugby World Cup.

Playing Rugby Union

Rebecca started playing rugby union in 1999. She played for the Merewether Carlton team until 2011. She also played for the New South Wales Country team.

In 2006, Rebecca played for Australia in the 2006 Women's Rugby World Cup. This big event was held in Canada. In 2007, she was part of the Wallaroos squad. They toured New Zealand in October of that year.

Playing Rugby League

In 2011, Rebecca began playing in the Sydney Metropolitan Women's Rugby League. She also joined the Indigenous All Stars team. This was for their first women's All Stars match. Later that year, she played her first Test match for Australia. This game was against Samoa. She also played for New South Wales.

In 2013, Rebecca was part of the Australian team that won the 2013 Women's Rugby League World Cup. Her sister-in-laws, Emma and Julie Young, were also on this winning team.

Rebecca was again part of the Australian team that won the 2017 Women's Rugby League World Cup. Even though she was in the squad, she did not play in the final game.

On 6 October 2018, she was the captain of the Prime Minister's XIII team. They won their game against Papua New Guinea with a score of 40–4.

On 1 July 2019, Rebecca joined the Sydney Roosters team. This was for the NRL Women's Premiership. She played her first game for the Roosters in Round 1 of the 2019 NRL Women's season. They lost that game 12–16 to the New Zealand Warriors.
