Redowl, South Dakota facts for kids
Redowl is a small place in Meade County, in the U.S. state of South Dakota. It's known as an "unincorporated community." This means it's a group of homes and businesses that doesn't have its own official local government like a city or town. Instead, it's managed by the larger county government.
What is the History of Redowl?
The community of Redowl got its start a long time ago. In 1908, a post office was opened there. Post offices were super important back then for people to send and receive letters and packages. The name "Redowl" actually comes from a nearby stream called Red Owl Creek. So, the community was named after this local natural feature.
